Patrick Johnson is an Assistant Professor of American Multicultural Studies at Sonoma State University. His work has been published in the Review of Research in Education, Ethnic Studies Review and the edited collections, Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy: Teaching and Learning for Justice in a Changing World (Teacher College Press) and We Dare Say Love: Supporting African American Male Achievement (Teacher College Press). His research interests include television studies, Black fan studies, cultural memory, and the residual circulation of past Black media.
